Run “case history” ads in your local paper that spotlight a career at your shop:
The Northwest Pennslyvania NTMA chapter (based in Meadville, PA), runs a weekly career story in the local paper. The paper sells advertising around the story. The employer and employee get recognition. The result is that these ads attract recruits. One local company, Tech Tool, hired nine people as a result of the ad they participated in creating.
Here’s how the NWPA NTMA Chapter describes the program:
This new "Top in the Shop" program is the latest of many innovative programs offered by the Northwest Pennsylvania Chapter of the NTMA, and is presented by the Meadville Tribune.
With this program, each local NTMA Member company can take the opportunity to feature one of their many prized workers as their "Top in the Shop". The photo shows the employee performing his/her job, while the text explains what he/she does, why he/she got into the trade, and how he/she learned the required skills. It also explains a little about the company and why the company values such an employee.
Fill out the advertising form to become a part of NTMA's "Top of the Shop" program, and have your company featured here.
Here are downloadable pdf versions of each Top Shop feature as it ran in the Meadville Tribune.
